In the heart of Comic-Con, we are getting more and more gifts. It’s a geek reaping.
Speaking of reaping, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire cast and crew returned as true heroes to San Diego this afternoon. Once the untested “other” Young Adult book series being turned into a film with a love triangle, The Hunger Games franchise has shown across-the-board appeal with both genders, making $400 million in the U.S. box office alone. Jennifer Lawrence capturing America’s heart, as well as an Academy Award, in Silver Linings Playbook doesn’t hurt either.
It was a festive event that culminated in the reveal of the latest trailer for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, which you can watch below:
It is a pretty epic tease for things to come. Similar to the marketing campaign for the first film, we never actually see much of anything in relation to the titular “games,” yet the movie still looks impressively gripping. War appears to be on the rise and the advent of revolution seems to be enough to differentiate a plot that may boil down to “Survive the games…again!”
May the odds ever be in the film’s favor this November.
