Hugh Jackman might just be hanging up his claws after The Wolverine 3...
This summer's X-Men: Days Of Future Past will see Hugh Jackman reprise the role of Logan/Wolverine for the seventh time. Furthermore, he's already committed to do The Wolverine 3, which Fox has set a release date of March 2017 for.
But might that be it? In a new interview with SFX, Jackman said that "I still am very ambitious for the character. And tonally I feel like we corrected the ship with the last one". Yet he went on to add that "I feel we can still go further, in a way. If I did another one I’m 99.9% sure it would be the last, so that will inform what it is for me".
The interview appears in the new print issue of the magazine, and thus may not have been conducted before Fox announced the release date for The Wolverine 3, which James Mangold is returning to direct. Jackman will be back for that one, and in terms of potential storylines, he joked to SFX that "of course we're looking at Old Man Logan, because that may be the only option left at this point". He went on to add that "you can tell from my answer that we're still working it out!"
X-Men: Days Of Future Past lands on May 22nd. The new SFX is on sale now.
