The Fantastic Voyage remake has long been in the works, but now it has a notable writer...
David S. Goyer does more than DC superhero movies, although lately, it's been tough to keep track of everything he's involved in. Now, Mr. Goyer is trading in capes and masks for something more inward looking. Literally. We can only be talking about Fantastic Voyage, which Mr. Goyer is now writing a treatment for.
Fantastic Voyage was a 1966 20th Century Fox film about a team of scientists who shrink down to enter a human body and save a life from within. It won Oscars that year for Best Special Effects (now Visual Effects) and Best Art Direction (now Production Design), two awards that I'm sure James Cameron (who is producing the remake) would love to chase should this one make it to the screen. Perhaps this is a smokescreen for Mr. Goyer's burning desire to write DC Comics superhero The Atom for Warner Bros.? Probably not.
Fantastic Voyageis at Fox under James Cameron's Lightstorm Entertainment banner. We imagine this will be in 3D.
We just hope it's as much fun as Innerspace.
