New clips for Kick-Ass 2 reveals Kick-Ass's version of the Avengers, the Motherfucker screwing up New York and Hit-Girl reenacting a beloved scene from Ferris Bueller's Day Off!

With the release of Kick-Ass 2, one of the most unlikely sequels ever, almost upon us, Universal Pictures is pulling out all the stops by releasing three fan-teasing videos only a week after their very NSFW red band Comic-Con trailer. Each of these clips offer small nods for fans of Mark Millar’s comics and a chance to parse out the tone of Jeff Wadlow’s approach to this odd duck world.

The first clip, courtesy of Digital Spy, allows Clark Duke to unmask his super-side as the sneaky “Battle Guy.” At the inaugural meeting of Justice Forever (i.e. The Avengers), Kick-Ass (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) outs his friend as a fellow high schooler to his Dave Lizewski character. Jim Carrey’s bandleader, with a terrifically thick accent, seems to be the opposite of amused with Battle Guy’s big mouth.

The second clip shows the Motherfucker (Christopher Mintz-Plasse) finally giving in to his evil inhibitions and knocking over some kind of deli. The monumental event appears poised to shape his life for the violent.

And lastly, and best of fall, Kick-Ass 2 tips its hat to one of the unlikeliest of influences, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. Yep, fearing that she will be caught by Marcus (Morris Chestnut), fan favorite Hit-Girl (Chloe Grace Moretz) is forced to race her adoptive dad home via motorcycle before he discovers she’s been out fighting crime when she is supposed to be home with the cold.

All of these clips display a cheeky tone that gives this fan of the first some good vibrations. It is a bit disappointing how it is all flatly lit, yet the film is starting to show its stronger cards the closer August 16 nears.

**UPDATE**

And two more clips are also now available.

The first features Chris D'Amico (Mintz-Plasse) training himself to be a badass and then quickly deciding that it is better to just pay for servicable badasses. The scene promises that one of the movie's best aspects may very well be Mintz-Plasse and John Leguizamo, cast as his bodyguard, playing off one another.

And the other features Dave Lizewski (Taylor-Johnson) trying to convince Mindy (Moretz) to suit up as Hit-Girl again and join his Justice Forever team. And, yes, the ever controversial Robin character takes a pounding in this conversation.
