The Flintstones are heading back to the big screen - with some help from Will Ferrell and Adam McKay...
It would be fair to say that we were not fans of either The Flintstones, or The Flintstones: Viva Rock Vegas, a pair of live action movies that landed back in the 1990s. The first in particular remains a staggeringly bad way to bring a classic animated series to the big screen. Brilliantly cast yet terribly executed, The Flintstones is a tremendously poor blockbuster movie.
However, plans are afoot to bring The Flintstones back to the big screen, and this time, they might actually get the film they deserve. The plan this time is for an animated movie, and it's been overseen by Will Ferrell, Adam McKay, and Chris Henchy. Ferrell and McKay and executive producers, and Henchy is penning the screenplay for the ne tilm.
It's in early development so far, but is the latest evidence of Warner Bros' growing commitment to feature animation. It recently added two thus-far unnamed animated movies to its schedule.
More on The Flintstones as we hear it. Heck, if it does well, we might get another Jetsons film too...
