Watch the first full trailer for Christopher Nolan's space-based Interstellar, starring Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway.
Last December, Warner Bros. and Paramount Pictures released the first teaser for Christopher Nolan’s ambiguously titled Interstellar. The teaser was filled with harrowing and inspirational archival footage of the American space program and an era where man dreamt big. With little actually revealed save for Matthew McConaughey’s narration (pre-Oscar McConaissance, too!) and the image of a space shuttle taking off above cornfields, some fans were disappointed.
Well…it appears that Nolan continues to play it close to the vest. As someone who knows at least the basic outline for this story, trust me when I say that this new trailer isn’t scratching the surface of what we can expect from Nolan’s first space opera. For some that may be frustrating, but we found this trailer, now playing in front of Warner Brothers and Legendary Pictures’ Godzilla, to be intriguing and refreshingly spoiler-free. With this cast and the talent behind the camera, you already know that you’re going to see it, and there is more than enough here to whet the appetite for what is to come.
Watch it here:
Interstellar is a mysterious adventure about a group of scientists and explorers who must go into space to save mankind’s destiny following a negative effect on Earth’s crops. It can sound a bit vague, but you can head over to our Interstellar: Everything We Know article for more details about this intentional mystery.
The movie is based on a script written by Jonathan Nolan (originally meant for Steven Spielberg to direct) and Christopher Nolan, and stars Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Wes Bentley, Topher Grace, John Lithgow, and Michael Caine.
Interstellar takes off November 7, 2014.
