Hollywood is taking another swing at a Bruce Lee biopic, with director George Nolfi at the helm.
Bruce Lee is coming back to Hollywood. Birth of the Dragon is the title of the next attempt at a Bruce Lee biopic, although this time it seems to be taking a more specific approach than the broader "life and times"Dragon: The Bruce Lee story from 1993. While Dragonis good fun, any relation between that film's events and the actual life of Bruce Lee would appear to be coincidental, at best. George Nolfi (The Adjustment Bureau) will direct, with Christopher Wilkinson and Stephen Rivele (no stranger to fightin' biopics, having written Ali) are working on the screenplay.
Birth of the Dragon focuses on the story of Bruce Lee's fight with San Francisco martial arts teacher, Wong Jack Man, a fight which, legend has it, helped inspire Lee to create Jeet Kune Do. We have to wonder how much of this will be influenced by the telling of events in Rick Wing's Showdown in Oakland, which goes into considerable detail about the legendary Bruce Lee/Wong Jack Man fight.

How the heck are they going to stretch out a fight that lasted 3min? They should include James Lee as a character in the movie who had a profound effect on Bruce lee's training methods.
