The early days of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles phenomenon is chronicled in Turtle Power. Watch the trailer here.
At one point, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were the biggest thing going. We're talking a level of cultural saturation that rivaled Burton's Batman, and one that was probably the equal of the current Marvel-mania. Never mind the comics (first printings of the early, independently published Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles issues went for insane prices), the animated series, or the terrific first live-action movie. It was toys, clothes, breakfast cereals, frozen pizza tie-ins...you name it.
And that seems to be exactly what Turtle Power is all about. The new documentary (from Paramount, who are also releasing this summer's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles live-action flick) will be released on DVD and Digital HD on August 12th. Turtle Power comes from the minds of three fans, Isaac Elliott-Fisher, Mark Hussey, and Randall Lobb, who have spent the last six years pulling this documentary together.
It looks like good fun. Watch the trailer here:
