G.I. Joe 2 director Jon M Chu looks like he's taking over from Louis Leterrier on Now You See Me 2...
Now this is a surprise. Now You See Me director Louis Leterrier - who will always have a special place in our hearts for bringing the world The Transporter- looks like he's no longer attached to Now You See Me 2.
Leterrier had given interviews talking about his plans for the sequel, which Lionsgate ordered pretty soon after the original hit. But Varietynow reports that he won't be directing the film after all, and instead that Jon M Chu - who has all but dropped out of directing G.I. Joe 3- is in line for the movie.
Now You See Me 2is set to shoot in the autumn, with Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher, Dave Franco and Mark Ruffalo all set to return.
It's unclear as to why Leterrier has departed the film. But if production does start this year, don't be surprised if Lionsgate finds a date for Now You See Me 2in its 2015 schedule.
