Harrison Ford's ankle injury will keep him grounded on Star Wars: Episode VII for up to eight weeks.
Last week, news came that Harrison Ford had been injured on the set of Star Wars: Episode VII. Now, it appears that the incident will keep Han Solo from piloting the Millennium Falcon for a while.
As broken by The Hollywood Reporter, Ford was hospitalized last Thursday due to a broken ankle, and it appears that he will not be able to participate in the filming of the J.J. Abrams directed sequel for up to eight weeks.
According to reports, Ford injured his ankle while utilizing the doorway for the on-set Millennium Falcon, which we have previously seen constructed in other set-photos.
The injury is not expected to delay the December 2015 release of the hotly anticipated film, and Ford is expected to eventually return to the set that also features original cast members Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Kenny Baker.
Star Wars: Episode VII takes place 30 years after the original trilogy’s Return of the Jedi closer and features a new generation learning the wonders of the Force. New cast members involved in that include Oscar Isaac, Adam Driver, John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Domhnall Gleeson, Max von Sydow, and Lupita Nyong’o.
Star Wars: Episode VII will fly into cinemas on December 18, 2015.
