Straight from Bruce Banner himself, Marvel is once again weighing the idea of a solo Hulk movie.
The idea of a Hulksolo movie has been kind of out there for awhile, with Marvel preferring to focus on introducing more Marvel heroes and keeping the Bruce Banner/Hulk character in a supporting (albeit powerhouse) role in the Avengersfilms. But now Mark Ruffalo is saying that a Hulkstandalone movie is back on the table.
"I think they are, for the first time, entertaining the idea of it...But there's still nothing definitive, not even a skeletal version of what it would be. I look forward to going down that road, if we could crack that nut."
Some time back, some rumors surfaced that the next solo Hulk film could potentially be based on the Planet Hulk storyline, which features the Hulk in exile on an alien world, with a bit of a Conan meets John Carter vibe. Unfortunately, nothing ever came of it, but Mr. Ruffalo's recent comments about the Hulk having a larger, more layered role in Avengers: Age of Ultron, along with the presence of Hulkbuster armor in some of that film's promotional images make us wonder if maybe the team is worried about the kind of damage that an unchecked Hulk can do.
