Godzilla is returning to the PlayStation 3. Here is the trailer for the urban carnage to come.
There's no arguing that Godzilla wasn't one of the biggest releases of the summer so far. Currently, the film is the fourth highest grossing film of 2014, a pretty impressive feat considering the year's competition. The film left most audiences split. Some loved the dread that director Gareth Edwards built with his withholding, others thought that Godzilla didn't receive enough screentime. Regardless, someone must have liked what Edwards did with the property, because Disney gave him the keys to one of the upcoming standalone Star Wars films that have been promised.
If you're in the camp that believes that they didn't get enough time with the unjolly green giant, than fear not. As always, when a popular movie comes out, it's followed by a game adaptation, and now Godzilla will get one, and you can walk around smashing San Francisco to your heart's content.
This new trailer doesn't give much of a look at the game, and unfortunately the text is all in Japanese, but the arrival of the trailer confirms a new Godzilla game is on the way, coming to the PlayStation 3. The game is slated for a fall release in Japan, but there's still no planned release in the U.S. and it's unclear whether the game will be available on other consoles.
Check out the trailer below, and start hoping for a U.S. release sometime soon.
