Lorraine Warren purportedly reveals the harrowing new case from her and her husband's investigations that will serve as the plot for the fast tracked Conjuring sequel.

Nearly everyone loves scary movies, which may explain why when one is actually scary (and well written, acted, directed, etc.) people devour it with both hands…or at least with the one that isn’t covering their eyes. Take this summer’s sleeper hit, The Conjuring, which has grossed over $100 million in the U.S. alone. As detailed in our Den of Geek Review, it is definitely one to check out if you’re determined to catch a case of insomnia.

Ergo, it should surprise no one that Warner Brothers is keen on following it up with more adventures of Ed and Lorraine Warren on the paranormal trail.  Up to this point, many have speculated that it would pick up a few years after the first film in a little place called Amityville. However, given how that that case has been so thoroughly debated in popular culture, not to mention in two other film versions that include sequels in-between, it would make sense that WB is looking for something a little more off-the-beaten path.

According to Ain’t It Cool News, who had a source attend one of Lorraine Warren’s well-known museum events in Connecticut, The Conjuring sequel will be exploring something truly bone-chillingly unique instead.

Lorraine Warren has apparently said the next film will focus on a trip she and her husband took to Enfield, England in the late 1970s where two sisters were allegedly possessed. Lorraine said she personally saw them levitate, dematerialize and contort their bodies in unnatural ways. Warren has called the controversial case one of the most terrifying in her career.

Given his new Fast and Furious responsibilities, it is unlikely that James Wan would return to the director’s chair to this fast moving sequel, which is a bit scary in itself, as the measured style of the first made such an impact.
