The Hateful Eight seems certain to go ahead now, with Kurt Russell revealing he's on board, and shooting is set for early 2015.
It seems all but certain now that Quentin Tarantino is to make his once-aborted western The Hateful Eight his next film. Tarantino put the project into turnaround following the leak of the screenplay, launching a now-dropped legal case against Gawkerin the aftermath of that. He's also held a live reading of the script, with the help of acting talent such as Samuel L Jackson, Bruce Dern, Michael Madsen, Kurt Russell, and Amber Tamblyn.
And now it looks like he's going to film it after all.
The latest news of The Hateful Eight has come from Kurt Russell, and he's revealed both that he's in the film, and that it's likely to shoot early in 2015. "I've a Tarantino project called The Hateful Eight that looks like it may go somewhere around the beginning of the year", he revealed to MyFoxPhilly.
We can't help but wonder how many of the others that took part in that live read through will be involved in the film. We suspect we'll know the answer to that by the end of the year.
Kurt Russell will be seen in next April's Fast & Furious 7 too, incidentally.
