Kevin Smith's upcoming Walrus Movie, Tusk, has set a September release date through A24.
Tusk, the movie Kevin Smith originally chose to make before Clerks 3, has been a long time coming. Ever since he announced at New York Comic-Con that it is a “Walrus Movie” in which a character literally turns into a walrus, the North Carolina production has kept us intrigued.
Now, the movie has a release date and synopsis.
A24 has announced that Tusk will have its day in the audience’s skewed view on September 19, 2014. Further, we have our first official details on the movie’s plot. Apparently Michael Parks, who played the crazed cult leader in Red State, plays another creepy dude in this. When he lures a podcaster played by Justin Long into his home, he slowly turns him into a walrus. You read that correctly. Genesis Rodriguez and Haley Joel Osment also star.
As for Clerks 3, Smith admitted recently that The Weinstein Company passed on financing the picture at $6 million. However, we doubt that is the last we’ll hear about the project.
