Jeff Bridges is set to take the lead in a story of a sizeable diamond heist....
One of the films being produced by JJ Abrams under his Bad Robot umbrella is Antwerp, a movie based on a Wiredarticle by the name of "The Untold Story Of The World's Biggest Diamond Heist." Joshua Davis penned the article, and it's the story of a 2003 burglary. You can probably guess where it took place.
The screenplay was originally being penned by Field Of Dreams' Phil Alden Robinson, but those duties have since been passed over to Doug Jung. Abrams will produce, but as of yet, no direct has been attached to the project.
It might just be getting its star though. The Tracking Board reports that Jeff Bridges is now in talks to take the lead role in the film, which Paramount Picture is backing. Good lead roles for Jeff Bridges? We're hardly likely to grumble about that.
More on Antwerp- the film, rather than the place - in due course...
