Some shiny new posters for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot and Jurassic World!
Folks, at this point, you're either on board for the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie, or you aren't. It's polarizing, we know. You're either so turned off by the possibility of the TMNT getting the Transformerstreatment (Michael Bay produced this flick) that you won't give Jonathan Liebesman's new movie a chance, or (like this writer) you have such a deep and abiding love for all things TMNT that you'll give just about anything a chance. So really, another picture of the Turtles isn't gonna sway you one way or the other is it?
May as well check it out...
Now, as someone who is determined to give this movie a fair shake...this poster isn't doing anyone any favors. I DO like the accessories that each Turtle wears, and I realize I'm in the vast minority with that. But it's the sheer size that's throwing me off. Inflating the Turtles to linebacker proportions kinda magnifies the goofiness of the concept, and not necessarily in a good way, and it offsets the potential wackiness of them wearing thrown together gear like this.
Regardless, the trailers seem to indicate that they haven't forgotten to add a sense of humor to this flick, so there may still be hope. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles opens on August 8th. But if that ain't your bag, I've got good news for you, dudes...
Den of Geek will be hosting an intimate screening of the original live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie from 1990 on Friday, August 22nd in New York City. You can find the basic details of our little shindig right here. We'll announce more once we get a little closer to the show!
Now, as for something we're a little less worried about, on to Jurassic World! This one comes courtesy of director Colin Trevorrow's Twitter feed, and these sharp promo posters will be available at the San Diego Comic-Con this week.
