Arya Stark could star is Ellie from Last of Us. Sam Raimi talked Evil Dead TV show!
Neil Druckmann, writer of The Last Of Us, revealed that he met with Maisie Williams (Arya Stark in Game of Thrones) for the role of Ellie, the teen protagonist of the original game. Williams' role in the film has not been confirmed as of yet.
Maisie Williams will be sitting in the Game of Thrones panel today. Expect some questions, some hints, maybe maybe some answers.
Sam Raimi, who is producing the upcoming The Last of Us film adaptation, made a surprise appearance at SDCC 2014, during a Screen Gems panel about the film.
Raimi introduced the film and talk a little bit about it: "I think it's going to be a great character journey and a great love story and a great horror picture."
According to IGN, Raimi said about the video game to film adaptation, “What’s unique is that Neil’s writing the script. I have a great deal of confidence we’re going to end up with a script that’s true to the strengths of the game.”
A trailer for the film was also shown to fans in Hall H. Cheers all around.
Neither Druckmann or Raimi announced a release date or director for the film.
Raimi also announced that he and his brother Ivan are writing an Evil Dead TV show, along with Bruce Campbell.
This could be a return to classic Evil Dead, after the 2013 film by Fede Alvarez rebooted the series. Plot details were not revealed or confirmed by Raimi during the panel.
Deadline had this to say:
Raimi took a moment to tease the prospect of more Evil Dead: “I always loved working on that series with Bruce Campbell and Rob Tapert, and my brother and I are writing the Evil Dead TV show right now … with Bruce Campbell.” They even toyed with the idea of having Campbell be in the Last Of Us film adaptation, and really, have we ever had reason to grow tired of that thesp who has been intertwined with Raimi since 1981′s The Evil Dead? That film, by the way, is a touchstone for Druckmann and the creatives behind the Naughty Dog vidgame empire.
The panel finished off with Raimi receiving a surprise award, the Inkbot Award, for his contribution to pop culture.
