A new video summarizing the first two Phases of Marvel's Cinematic Universe has arrived online just in time for Guardians of the Galaxy.

Marvel's Cinematic Universe has been running like a well-oiled machine. From the first moment that Robert Downey Jr. immersed himself in the role of Tony Stark in Iron Man, and then appeared in character in The Incredeible Hulk, Marvel did what no other studio had attempted before - they created a shared movie universe for their heroes, where the events of one film directly impact the proceedings of the next. Rolled out in Phases, each culminating in fanboy fantasy, team-up Avengers flicks, Marvel consistently releases quality entertainment, respecting the comic book source material and giving lesser known heroes their time to shine in the sun. Oh what a long, strange journey it has been.

With the release of Guardians of the Galaxy, Marvel's tenth picture, the riskiest, but possibly most spirited effort to date, Marvel has concluded Phase Two, with the official epilogue coming in the form of Avengers: Age of Ultron next May. Over the course of the ten films, we've had three solo adventures with Iron Man, two action-packed outings with Captain America, two other realm visits with Thor, and an often forgotten excursion with a Hulk that looks nothing like Mark Ruffalo. Sometimes middling, but never without their charms, the movies in the MCU have changed the course of the superhero genre forever, with studios like Warner Bros. and their DC properties, and Fox and Sony with their licensed Marvel heroes, now trying to play catch up. Batman and Superman may meet on screen in the future, but Marvel will be screaming "been there, done that," as they plan out their next moves, which include eight more slated films with release dates leading to 2019. Ant-Man and Doctor Strange will be first new heroes up to bat in Phase Three, but rumors have suggested that we may be getting Black Panther and Ms. Marvel at some point too. The future is wide open for Marvel, and with Guardians of the Galaxy's impending success, no property seems too outlandish.

But instead of postulating about what comes next, let's have a look at where we've been. Marvel has released a video that summarizes all that has unfolded in the MCU throughout Phases One and Two. From Iron Man to Star-Lord, enjoy the journey.
