The Kickboxer reboot is stacking the deck with two more badasses.
It's a good week to be Dave Bautista. He's riding a wave of critical and commercial success with Guardians of the Galaxy. The Kickboxerreboot that he's starring in has added some more ass-kicking star power. He was interviewed by Den of Geek.
Alright, maybe the last part is less important.
But the middle part, the part about the ass-kicking badasses? That's for real. Tony Jaa and Scott Adkins have joined the cast of the Kickboxerreboot. The cast now includes the aforementioned Mr. Bautista (we're afraid to call him Dave), Alain Moussi, Georges St-Pierre (our favorite Batroc ever), Tony Jaa, and Scott Adkins. This probably won't be boring.
Here's the official synopsis.
"David and Kurt Sloan are the descendants of a well-known Venice, California dynasty of champions. Both are top-notch fighters and athletes in the prime of their lives. When David wins the Karate World Championship, a promoter lures him to Hong Kong despite Kurt's protests that the man is a crook. Not soon after, Kurt receives a letter from David and heads to Thailand to meet him. When he arrives, he discovers his brother is dead. The man responsible is the viscous Tong Po. Desperate to seek revenge, Kurt turns to Xian Chow, his brother's former mentor. To defeat the man who killed his brother, Kurt must look within himself to find the strength and courage of a champion."
Stephen Fung is directing. More as we get it.
