Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice helmer Zack Snyder comes to the defense of Aquaman on a Detroit radio show.
Despite all the teasing from star Jason Momoa that he might, probably, and almost certainly is playing Aquaman in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, it is of course not confirmed and totally a mystery what part he is playing. Totally….at least as long as Zack Snyder doesn’t keep hearing DC Comics’ original merman being teased by radio hosts…
While apparently driving into the Detroit set to continue filming on Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, Snyder called via cell phone a local radio station, CBS Detroit, which was using some choice and perhaps mocking words to describe the superhero of the sea.
“You guys were disparaging, a little bit, of Aquaman,” Snyder said. “I don’t want to give anything away about the movie or anything like that, but Aquaman has some cool abilities. People are like, ‘Oh, what? Does he talk to animals? Cause that seems like what he does, or fish.’ The cool thing with Aquaman is his trident, so you have to realize that could cut the flesh of Superman if they came in contact. That’s a thing that’s in the canon. He’s super strong cause of course he can exist at these super deep depths, so when he comes up here, he’s crazy strong!
“Anyway, not to say he’s in my movie or anything like that but he has the potential to be badass! That’s all I’m saying.”
If that isn’t a confirmation, then I say next we get Snyder on camera to sit down and watch South Park’s two-part episode on the “Super Best Friends.” If that doesn’t get him going on how cool Aquaman is going to be in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, nothing will.
