The Westworld TV series has found its most important character, the villainous robot who makes everyone so miserable.
The most memorable visual associated with the original Westworldis Yul Brynner as the cueball-pated, black clad android, programmed to play the villain...who then really becomes the villain. Who will play this role in the increasingly stacked Westworldreboot for HBO? We're glad you asked.
Ed Harris will play the bad robot in Bad Robot's Westworld. This cast now includes James Marsden, Anthony Hopkins, Evan Rachel Wood, Jeffrey Wright, and more. For a TV series, this has more star power than the original movie. The big question, of course, is whether Ed Harris will make as convincing a robot as Yul Brynner once did.
Westworldis coming from JJ Abrams' production company Bad Robot, with a pilot script by Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy. No word on when HBO will let us have a peek, but we're hoping it will be in 2015. After all, they have to replace True Blood and Boardwalk Empirenext year.
With a cast like this, nothing can go wrong...go wrong...go wrong...
