Warner Bros. has hired two writers to develop an Aquaman solo movie starring Jason Momoa. Details here.
Earlier today we "broke" the nearly year old news that Jason Momoa is playing Aquaman in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice. By default, that kinda makes him Aquaman for the Justice League movie and whatever else Warner Bros. has planned on their rapidly expanding superhero calendar. While "breaking" that news (sorry, I can't help myself), I chuckled mightily about the prospects of an Aquamansolo movie.
ummmm...whoops.
You see, as it turns out, Warner Bros. is actually quite interested in making an Aquamansolo movie. So interested that they've brought on Will Beall (Gangster Squad, and who also took a pass at a Justice League movie script in recent times) and Kurt Johnstad (300: Rise of an Empire) to develop two separate scripts. And may the best Aquaman win, it would seem.
The report comes via The Hollywood Reporter. No, there is no additional confirmation on this, but keep in mind, Warner Bros. have yet to confirm Jason Momoa's involvement in Batman v. Superman in any capacity, despite the fact that we've all but seen him swimming around in an orange top at this point, so take that as you will.
