The West End musical of Back To The Future won't be on stage in time for the film's 30th anniversary...
Well, it looks like we won't be celebrating next year's 30th birthday of Back To The Futurewith a West End musical after all. The plan had been that a stage show, with the full involvement of Robert Zemeckis and Bob Gale (who co-wrote the film, with the former directing), would open in 2015. But behind the scenes delays have put the show back until 2016 at least now.
Furthermore, the production is now seeking a new director as well. Jamie Lloyd had been developing the Back To The Future musical, but news broke at the end of last week that he'd departed the project. "Creative differences" have been cited, although the parting of the ways is said to be "amicable."
Reset the DeLorean to 2016, then. We'll just jump ahead a couple of years and let you know how it all turns out...
