There's new footage to be found in the new trailer for Universal's Dracula origin story, Dracula Untold.
It's kind of up for debate whether Dracula needed a new origin story but we're getting one in Dracula Untold. A fresh Japanese trailer for the film (in which it is somewhat amusingly referred to as Dracula Zero) makes it clear that this is less a horror tale and more a medieval action/adventure in which the compassionate (!) ruler of Transylvania, Vlad Tepes, responds to a hostile foreign invasion by becoming a vampire, albeit one with all kinds of superpowers.
In other words, it's some heavily revised history mixed with loosely adapted Bram Stoker, topped with a whole lot of CG. Luke Evans (Bard the Bowman from the Hobbit movies) stars in the title role, with Dominic Cooper (Captain America: The First Avenger), Sarah Gadon and Diamond Murtagh also featured and Gary Shore directing.
