Neeson says he’s signed for Joss Whedon-written Suspension.
Liam Neeson, who is excellent in his new movie A Walk Among the Tombstones, made an appearance this week on Empire magazine’s podcast and revealed that he’s signed on to star in a film called Suspension. He described the movie as “(me) hanging from a bridge in New York -- the George Washington Bridge.”
That’s all Neeson had to say about the project for now, but it turns out that Suspension may in fact be based on a script written by Joss Whedon (you know, the guy doing those little Avengers films these days) way back in 1993 that never got produced. The story follows an ex-con named Harry Monk (presumably Neeson’s role) who accidentally ends up helping the cops when he’s trapped on the GWB after it’s attacked by terrorists.
It’s not official that this movie is derived from the same script, and even if it is, we imagine that after 20 years someone will dust it off and give a few fresh coats of paint. There’s no other info available – no director, release date or studio – so all we have right now is Neeson’s mention of it. But it sounds like it will fit very neatly on the shelf next to his other recent action thrillers like Taken and Non-Stop, doesn't it?
