In the below red band trailer, you can get a better sense of the comedy intended for the latest film from writer-directors Rogen and Evan Goldberg, who previously helmed together summer 2013’s apocalyptic laugher, This is the End.
The Interview has already made waves in public given its somewhat touchy geopolitical set-up: Dave Skylark (Franco) and Aaron Rapoport (Rogen) are the respective star and producer of a popular celebrity gossip/tabloid talk show in the U.S. when they are invited to interview Kim Jong-un. But instead of just interviewing the communist leader, they are recruited by the CIA to also assassinate him. The premise has left the North Korean regime in Pyongyang less than amused, as the actual Kim Jong-un has called the movie a “wanton act of terror.”
The Interview will be near your home for Christmas.
