Peter Dinklage will play a bounty hunter in the film adaptation of Joe R. Lansdale's The Thicket.
Peter Dinklage will star in The Thicket, an adaptation of the Joe R. Lansdale novel. The Thicketcenters on a young man named Jack who, after losing his parents, must find his kidnapped sister who was abducted by a vicious outlaw and killer named Cut Throat Bill. Jack must go on a journey of self discovery across the early 20th century Texas landscape and a brutal no man’s land called "the Big Thicket" to find her. Along the way, Jack meets a street smart prostitute, the gravedigger alcoholic son of an ex-slave, and a crafty dwarf bounty hunter named Shorty (Dinklage) who all help Jack in the inevitable brutal confrontation with Cut Throat Bill and his gang.
Gianni Nunnari (The Departed) will produce. This book was selected by the Library Journal as one of best historical fiction books of 2013. More news on this project as we get it, but anyone who has been lucky enough to read any of Lansdale’s novels knows that most of his books are just ripe for cinematic exploration as proven by the recently released Cold in July.
