We're going to get the missing scenes with Anna Paquin's Rogue in a longer X-Men: Days Of Future Past cut, it's been confirmed.
Around the time of the release ofX-Men: Days Of Future Pastover the summer, there were murmurings that we would get a longer version of the film at some point down the line. It turns out that those murmurings were entirely correct.
Varietybroke the news, as writer/producer Simon Kinberg confirmed that a longer cut, with 10 minutes of extra footage, will be released on disc and on demand services next summer. The cut will reinsert the cut scenes featuring Anna Paquin's Rogue that were excised from the theatrical version, as well as introducing material featuring other characters too.
As Kinberg said, "it's a big chunk, a substantial part of the movie," adding that "every movie has scenes that are cut out, but not every movie has scenes cut out with such a beloved character."
Kinberg also added that, after Days Of Future Past, "I pray to God I never work on another time travel movie." Given that he's currently working on the screenplay for X-Men: Apocalypse, it would be a fair bet to suggest the next X-Men film will be more grounded in time!
