It looks as if the new Star Trek film, directed by Roberto Orci, is heading to South Korea...

Set to shoot early next year is the 13th Star Trek movie, which is heading into cinemas in 2016 to help mark the 50th birthday of Trek. Robert Orci is co-writing and directing the film, and we've got the first hints as to where it's going to shoot.

As reported by TrekMovie, Star Trek is heading to South Korea.

It spotted a post on the Facebook page of the mayor of Seoul, where he wrote that "today I met with Jeffrey Chernov, producer of Star Trek 3, at the Paramount Pictures Studio and agreed to film a portion of the upcoming movie in Seoul."

The new Star Trek will thus follow a path previously trodden by Avengers: Age Of Ultron and The Bourne Legacy, both of which filmed sequences in the South Korean capital.

More news on the new Star Trek as we hear it.
