After the success of The Purge: Anarchy, a third Purge movie is now in pre-production.
Shut, lock and bolt the doors. The city is on lockdown. For the next 24 hours, the thugs rule the street. So load up the Blu Ray in your safe room and bring some snacks. There is a third Purge movie on the way.
Universal Pictures announced that the third film in the The Purge franchise, is in the works.
The studio has already given a pen and paper to James DeMonaco, who wrote and directed The Purgeand The Purge: Anarchy, to pen the screenplay and think about directing the next one too.
The next The Purgefilm will be produced Universal, Blumhouse and Platinum Dunes and the team that shuttered us in our home the first time: Sebastian Lemercier, Jason Blum, Michael Bay, Brad Fuller and Andrew Form.
In The Purge all criminal acts are legal for one day to get it out of everyone’s system and give the cops a night off.
The Purge starring Ethan Hawke, broke into theaters in May 2013 and came out with $89.3 million worth of popcorn sold. It was only made for $3 million. That’s a steal. The Purge: Anarchy nabbed another $108.8 million.
