Robert Downey Jr has confirmed, denied, confirmed, and denied Iron Man 4. We give up.
You see, when an actor is doing a press tour, he'll say just about anything to raise the profile of the movie he's promoting. And who could blame him? We are, of course, referring to Robert Downey Jr and The Judge, and how this relates to all his Iron Man 4chatter. It's infuriating, but hey, we only report the news, we don't make it.
Anyway, RDJ, after seemingly confirming Iron Man 4 on Ellen yesterday then went on The Late Show With David Lettermanand ummmm...denied the existence of Iron Man 4. "There's no script for Iron Man 4," he said. Yes, we've heard this before. But he did promise that he is "gonna do other stuff with Marvel. I'm still going to be involved with Marvel and there's gonna be plenty of fun stuff to happen."
So, we're back to where we were last year. There probably won't be an Iron Man 4starring Robert Downey Jr., but there's also no plan for him to give up the Tony Stark role, and we can expect him to continue as a kind of godfather to the general Marvel Cinematic Universe. But really, he's a fun-loving dude who loves attention. He'll tell you he's playing Superman in the Justice Leaguemovie if you ask him nicely. He also mentioned something about Doctor Who in a Reddit AMA during this whole circus, so don't believe too much.
