Gillian Anderson has hinted at progress on The X-Files 3. And as for Paul Feig's Ghostbusters? "Cast me now!"
Gillian Anderson is on the promotional trail right now for her new novel that she's co-written with Jeff Rovin, A Vision Of Fire. And as part and parcel of that, she's done one of those spangly Reddit Ask Me Anything sessions. People asked, and she did indeed answer.
The inevitable question of the long-mootedThe X-Files 3 movie came up, and Anderson far from batted it off. Had there been any more news on it? "Uh... uh... uh", she wrote. "Sorta kinda. Keep your ears to the ground."
We shall do just that. Anderson, David Duchovny and show creator Chris Carter are all reportedly keen for the movie to happen. It just needs someone to give it the magical greenlight. And pay for it.
In the same chat, Anderson was also asked if she fancied being part of director Paul Feig's new team of Ghostbusters. It seems safe to conclude that she would like that very much. Her exact words? "OH MY GOD, I just looked it up online. Paul Feig, cast me now! Start a Twitter petition! I'm free!!!!! I'm free I'm free and I'm funny, goddamnit!"
We'll take that as a 'yes.'
