Independence Day 2 has moved forward, but Hitman: Agent 47 and Scouts Vs Zombies are pushed back several months.
There's been a bit of a jiggle around with regards release dates in the US, that involves one or two films moving a few weeks, and others moving a few months.
Let's start with Roland Emmerich's Independence Day 2, which has been moved just a little away from, er, an Independence Day release in America. It's been brought forward a week, from July 1st 2016 to its new date of June 24th 2016. There, it will do direct battle with Universal's reboot of TheMummy.
The two films with big release date shifts?
First up, there's the rebooting of the Hitmanmovie series, Hitman: Agent 47. That's been put back a good six months, from its original date of February 27th 2015 to August 28th 2015 instead. Moving back eight months, meanwhile, is Paramount's upcoming horror, Scouts Vs Zombies. That one had originally been due to open on February 20th 2015, and now will launch on October 30th 2015 instead. Horror movies around Halloween? It'll never catch on.
In the US, Paddingtonand Hot Tub Time Machine 2 have been moved from their original Christmas bows too. The films will now arrive on January 16th 2015 and February 20th 2015 respectively.
None of these films have moved their UK dates yet, but in the case of Hitman: Agent 47 and Scouts Vs Zombies, we expect that to happen in due course. We're still on schedule to get Hot Tub Time Machine 2 before the year is out here. We'll keep you posted if that changes.
