Pedro Pascal barely got to wash his hands after Game of Thrones.
Pedro Pascal, who got all choked up as Oberyn Martell, aka the Red Viper of Dorne, on last season’s Game Of Thrones, is taking his revenge in the remake of Biblical epic Ben Hur, which is being directed by Timur Bekmambetov at MGM and Paramount. Pascal is in negotiations to play Pontius Pilate in the remake. Ben Huris really a kind of Biblical Forest Gump.
On Game Of Thrones, Pascal volunteered to fight The Mountain to the death for the honor of accused king killer Tyrion Lannister. He didn’t’ do it for Tyrion though, he wanted revenge for the rape and murder of his sister.
Ben Hur will star Jack Huston, Toby Kebbell, Morgan Freeman and Gal Gadot. Production begins early next year in Europe for February 26, 2016 release.
Pontius Pilate will be a bigger part in the new version of Ben Hur, which sticks closer to the 1880 novel by Lew Wallace than did the 1959 version that was directed by William Wyler and starred Charlton Heston.
Keith Clarke wrote the screenplay and and 12 Years A Slave‘s John Ridley rewrote it.
