MTV has given the series order to Scream, allowing Ghostface to reemerge from the shadows for a whole new medium.
It has been a long time coming, but it appears that Ghostface is ready to finally rear his deadly visage again on television, as MTV has given the series order to Scream.
Adapted from the four-part film series of the same name, Scream has been long digesting at MTV as not so much a remake as a continuation of the same universe with all-new characters. First announced in May 2013, the Scream show is finally moving with Jill Blotevogel of Harper’s Island set to executive produce and showrun the series. She also wrote the final pilot’s script, which was initially tackled by Jay Beattie and Dan Dworkin. The series will be produced by Dimension TV with Harvey Weinstein and Bob Weinstein executive producing, in addition to Wes Craven who is staying with the series as an executive producer.
Further, Deadline revealed today that The Killing’s Bex Taylor-Klaus has been cast in the major role of Audrey Jensen, a part initially cast with Amy Forsyth.
It appears that it is no longer safe to answer the phone, text message, or whatever new form of technological terror that Ghostface may devise.
