We know Deadpool is coming to the a theater near you, but when might we see Cable? Rob Liefeld speaks...
Have you heard? There's a Deadpool movie coming! For real this time. It has a release date and everything. It may or may not be rated R. Maybe that's just "R" for Ryan Reynolds. We don't know.
Rob Liefeld wants you to know stuff, though. He wants you to know all of the stuff. For example, he recently described his early meetings with the 20th Century Fox folks about getting Deadpool up on the screen:
I sat there with a bunch of producers, and we sat for several hours, and we talked about different ideas. And I tried to steer them in directions I think. For instance, I’ll tell you, first question they said, ‘Rob, does Cable need to be in the Deadpool movie?’ And I said, ‘No, Deadpool deserves his own function and Cable should come in in his own movie.’ And they were like, ‘Ok, because we were thinking about…’ And I was like, ‘No, you can do them both separately. They don’t need to be in the same movie.’
We wouldn't mind seeing Cable, although we expect it will be in X-Men: Apocalypse. Just a hunch.
And then there's the matter of that leaked Deadpoolfootage. Maybe you've seen it? If not, here's your chance. Anyway, back to the matter of Rob Liefeld talking about the footage. "God bless whoever leaked that. Whoever leaked it and goes to jail, we need to cheer them. That movie is happening, as that guy goes in cuffs, because the Fox guy told me, ‘Rob, we have computer forensics. We will find that person.’”
ummmm...okay.
He also has some strong words of praise for Ryan Reynolds, describing him as "ridiculously talented," and says that another reason the Deadpoolmovie is a reality is because of his passion for the project.
We will meet Deadpoolon February 12th, 2016. They mean it this time.
