Daniel Radcliffe and Lizzy Caplan join the cast of Now You See Me 2, which features the Four Horseman being forced into a new heist.
Last year’s Now You See Me was a robustly unexpected summer hit when in it grossed over $350 million worldwide. Well for its encore, it appears that Lionsgate has more than one trick up its sleeve in Now You See Me 2. The studio announced on Tuesday that Daniel Radcliffe of the Harry Potter films and Horns, as well as Lizzy Caplan (Masters of Sex) and Jay Chou, will be joining the Now You See Me 2cast.
The ensemble, which also includes the returning Jesse Eisenberg, Mark Ruffalo, Morgan Freeman, Woody Harrelson, Michael Caine, and Dave Franco, will follow the Four Horseman one year after they outsmarted the FBI, finding them face to face with a new enemy who enlists them to pull off their most dangerous heist yet. Now You See Me 2 is directed by GI Joe: Retaliation and Step Up 3D’s John M. Chu from a script by Pete Chiarelli and Ed Solomon. It is being produced by Bobby Cohen, Alex Kurtzman, and Roberto Orci.
This also marks another boon for Radcliffe who in the last several years has seemed to have solid success of shaking off his “The Boy Who Lived” aurora, as witnessed in his string of roles that include The Woman in Black, Kill Your Darlings, What If, and Horns.
Now You See Me 2 is scheduled to reveal its next trick on June 10, 2016.
