Star Wars: Episode VII now has an official title, Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The title was revealed on the official website, with a simple image that reads: "Star Wars: The Force Awakens has completed principal photography."
Word had come out that there was a wrap party in London last weekend, and with the one year mark out from the release date of December 18th, 2015, we've expected some kind of official announcement soon...but maybe not today.
The title, of course, is going to spark endless speculation and debate. You may start your engines. I'm sure at least a few of you were holding out hope that it might be called Star Wars: Heir to the Empire.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens is directed by JJ Abrams. It stars John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Oscar Isaac, Max Von Sydow, Lupite Nyong'o Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, and lots of other familiar and unfamiliar names. It opens on December 18th, 2015.
