Matt Damon and Paul Greengrass will be bringing Jason Bourne back to the big screen in 2016...
Here's one the rumour mill got right: Matt Damon is indeed returning to the role of Jason Bourne for the fourth time in Bourne 5, and Paul Greengrass is going to direct the new movie.
Greengrass directed Damon in The Bourne Supremacy and The Bourne Ultimatum (and, following that, Green Zone), although neither was involved in the more recent The Bourne Legacy, that starred Jeremy Renner. Damon had always maintained that he wouldn't do another Jason Bourne film unless Paul Greengrass was directing it, and as he told E! News of the director's return, "that's all I ever said. I just needed him to say yes."
The new Jason Bourne adventure, which currently doesn't have a title, is set to be released on July 15th 2016, with a lengthy shoot expected in 2015. Independently, a sequel to the Renner-headlinedThe Bourne Legacy remains in development, but a release date for that particular project hasn't been confirmed yet.
