The Wonder Woman buzz now centers on a Game of Thrones and Walking Dead director. Details here...
The word has been that Warner Bros. is looking for a female director for their Wonder Woman movie. They may have found her. Multiple sources now report Michelle MacLaren as the frontrunner for the Wonder Woman director job.
Michelle MacLaren has several episodes of Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead, and Breaking Bad (where she also served as executive producer) to her credit, which means that Wonder Woman's warrior nature, not to mention graphic violence, are probably high on the list of priorities for the film. The Hollywood Reporter also names Babadookdirector Jennifer Kent (wow!) and Homeland's Lesli Linka Glatter as potential directors who have taken meetings for the project.
THRand Varietystop short of saying that MacLaren has an offer on the table. But earlier this week, Punisher: War Zonedirector, Lexi Alexander claimed that there was an offer out to somebody, and that "if she says yes, everybody will be very happy, including me." Could she have been referring to Ms. MacLaren?
Nothing else is known about the Wonder Woman movie other than the fact that it has a star in Gal Gadot (who we'll meet in 2016's Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice), and a release date of June 23rd, 2017. We will, of course, get you more info when we can.
