The big budget movie take on Stephen King's The Stand might just have Matthew McConaughey on board...
At the end of last week, we learned thatThe Fault In Our Starsdirector Josh Boone is looking to split his big screen take on Stephen King's The Standinto four movies. Warner Bros is backing the project, and it sounds as though the films are inching torwards production.
Nat Wolff is thus far the only cast member we know about, and he's been given a role that's new in the screen version of The Stand. But it looks increasingly likely that Matthew McConaughey will sign up to play Randall Flagg, the key villain role in the project.
His name has popped up before in association with the movies, but The Guardian is reporting that he's now tipped to take the pivotal role of Flagg. Flagg is a cowboy who sets himself up where Las Vegas used to be. Oh, and he has supernatural powers. So no threat there, then. Yikes.
Expect more pieces of The Stand to fall into place over the next month or two...
