And the Nominations for the 72nd Golden Globes are…

The nominees for the Golden Globes are out...and it's a lot of biopics. But on the TV front, True Detective is doing very well...

It’s that time of the year again. With the SAG nominations already available, and the Oscar race still a month away from getting fully heated, it’s time for the Hollywood Foreign Press to throw its hat in the ring on what are the best films and television, in drama and comedy, from the year 2014…or at least which have the most stars.

Yep, the Golden Globes always the more boozy cousin of the AMPAS, are here with the nominations for the 72nd Annual Golden Globe Awards. Some newcomers like True Detective and Silicon Valley (and even Clive Owen for The Knick) are present on the television front, and Birdman and Boyhood are doing very well in film. But you can see the whole list below.

Still, that’s an awful lot of biopics dominating the drama categories for film. And as someone who has seen most of them, I think original concepts like Whiplash, Nightcrawler, A Most Violent Year, Gone Girl, and even Interstellar could have been better served in that category.
