Will The Avengers and the Guardians Of The Galaxy meet on screen? James Gunn doesn't seem a fan of the idea...
As he continues to work on his 2017 sequel to Guardians Of The Galaxy, having recently revealed that the story for the film is in place, writer/director James Gunn has downplayed one way that it could tap into Marvel's cinematic universe.
There had been chatter that, somewhere down the line, there may be a possible crossover between The Avengers and Guardians Of The Galaxy on the big screen. However, it seems that's not on the agenda at all.
Chatting to Screen Junkies, James Gunn confirmed that "we really are separate from the Avengers," adding that "I don't think people should assume too many things about the Guardians play in all of this. We have our own galaxy to take care of. We have our own galaxy to save."
"Earth is the Avengers' province," he said. "Thinking that everything is going to come together in a perfect way is not necessarily the way it's going to happen."
It's unlikely to stop the questions coming, of course. But it does seem that the Guadians Of The Galaxy and The Avengers will very much be going their own way.
