Michael Keaton and Tim Burton are edging closer to a reunion on Beetlejuice 2, it seems...
Both the director and star of Beetlejuice, Tim Burton and Michael Keaton, have new movies around at the moment. Keaton is attracting awards recognition for his excellent lead turn in Birdman, whilst Tim Burton has directedBig Eyes, the story of Margaret and Walter Keane.
As such, both are undertaking press interviews for their projects at the moment, and the name of an upcoming film they have in common is bubbling to the surface: Beetlejuice 2.
Chatting to Coming Soon then, Tim Burton was asked about the current state of the project. And the signs on this one are looking positive.
"It's a character that I love and I miss, and I miss actually working with Michael," Burton said. "There's only one Betelgeuse. We're working on a script and I think it's probably closer than ever and I'd love to work with him again."
It's another inch forward for a film that's looking ever more likely to happen. Expect Michael Keaton to be asked about it next, in his next round of interviews...
