A bit of market research suggests that 1996's The Craft is in line for the reboot treatment...

Andrew Fleming's 1996 movie The Craftwas a small hit on its original release, but it's endured far better than many of its contemporaries. The movie, which starred Robin Tunney, Neve Campbell, Fairuza Balk, and Skeet Ulrich, told of a group of teenage girls who practice witchcraft. Their choice to do so inevitably has some consequences.

It seems strange - and not unwelcome - that a successful and economic film such as The Craftwouldn't get any kind of sequel treatment, but that's how things have played out. There were plans at one stage for a straight to DVD sequel, but the project was eventually abandoned.

However, could a remake now be on the cards instead?

The story here has come from Dread Central, specifically one of its readers who took part in a research panel. The topic of the latest research said reader undertook was The Craft, and after several questions on the film, they were asked specificially, "based on everything you know, how likely would you be to see a reboot of The Craft in theater if it were released?" (they have the screenshot to back this up, too).

That's not a very vague question. That said, it could just be nothing more than a bit of research, and that's it. However, such questions tend to get asked for a reason. Oh, and we'd imagine choosing the word 'reboot' over 'remake' was deliberate, too...
