Jim Carrey, the 90s Riddler, would love to be in another Batman film. JOYGASM!
There was a really long time before Christopher Nolan killed it with The Dark Knight that us '90s kids really loved Batman Forever. Or maybe I'm speaking for myself...But I just don't think I am.
Although the Joel Schumacher films were full of sexual innuendos and (in retrospect) stale gags, they were easily the most quotable films for a boy in his Batsuit onesie zooming around the house stopping crime with his dog. And it was none other than funny man Jim Carrey (The Riddler) who delivered some of THE BEST lines in the '90s Batman franchise. It wasn't until Mr. Freeze hit the scene in '97 that Carrey was topped.
Carrey seems to remember the good times on the Batman Foreverset in this interview with MTV while promoting Dumb and Dumber Too:
“I’d love to work in the new graphic novel versions of the movie,” Carrey told MTV. “I don’t know about reprising the role — I don’t think Chris Nolan would go for that, but I’d love to work with him.”
Okay, yes, he doesn't know that Nolan no longer has anything to do with the Batman films, but didn't your mind just go there for a second? Maybe to The Dark Knight Rises. Bane blows up all the bridges out of Gotham while The Riddler watches from a screen, shouting JOYGASM!
No, you didn't think of that? You want me to stop? Oh, okay.
I'll leave you with The Riddler's greatest moments:
John Saavedra has a responsibility to uphold '90s Batman films. Disagree with him on Twitter.
