First Official Image from Crimson Peak

We're anxiously awaiting Guillermo del Toro's next movie, the gothic horror film, Crimson Peak. Unfortunately, we're going to be waiting for a long time, as the film doesn't open until October 16th, 2015. The nice thing about that is we're getting a proper Guillermo del Toro horror flick just in time for Halloween.

Check out the first official image from Crimson Peak, showcasing Jessica Chastain in suitably spooky period attire. Something about the lighting and the colors gives off a bit of a Hammer Films vibe, too...

Here's the official synopsis of the movie:

In the aftermath of a family tragedy, an aspiring author is torn between love for her childhood friend and the temptation of a mysterious outsider. Trying to escape the ghosts of her past, she is swept away to a house that breathes, bleeds… and remembers.

Sign us up. Crimson Peak also stars Tom Hiddleston and Charlie Hunnam. More as we get it.
