What the heck? It would appear that Neill Blompkamp had a little side hobby, envisioning a new movie in the Alienfranchise. Whatever the project was, it isn't happening, but he went ahead and posted come concept art on his Instagram page.
Blomkamp did clarify via Twitter that this was apparently unofficial, saying "they didn't really even know I was working on it ha." He went on to say "this has nothing to do with the studio, I just feel like I might do something else instead. In which case why not show some work." The art is by Geoffroy Thoorens and Doug Williams.
Why not? We'll tell you why not, Neill. Because this looks amazing and now we want this movie to get made. The return of Ellen Ripley? The return of Hicks?!? Damn. He did tease "maybe I'll go back to it...love the world."
