Release dates for Assassin's Creed, Gambit, Fantastic Four 2 and the next Planet Of The Apes film all confirmed...
A raft of new release dates has been announced by 20th Century Fox, including confirmation of when we can expect X-Men spin-off, Gambit.
So let's start there. Gambit, with Channing Tatum in the title role, is going to be released on October 7th 2016. That makes 2016 a bit of an X-Men year. Deadpool, featuring Ryan Reynolds, is already scheduled for February 12th 2016, whilst X-Men: Apocalypse will follow in May. Furthermore, the next standalone Wolverinefilm will follow Gambit by just a few months: that one's set for March 2017.
We don't know who's directing Gambityet, but there's a little bit of time still to work that out.
2016 will also see the release of the Assassin's Creedfilm, which finally has a locked down date. That's now due on December 21st.
One film we won't be getting in 2016 now is the next Planet Of The Apes movie. 20th Century Fox has bought director Matt Reeves and his team another year to put the movie together. Thus, the new Planet Of The Apes sequel will now arrive on July 14th 2017. Fantastic Four 2 shuffles to June 2nd 2017.
Obviously there's still plenty of time for those dates to shift again, but for the time being, that's when said movies are due. We'll keep you posted as we hear more about them.
